The Last of Us writer/creative manager Neil Druckmann and acclaimed Chernobyl founder Craig Mazin are teaming up to an HBO series based on the hit video game.
“Neil Druckmann is no question that the best storyteller operating in the video game medium, along with The Last of Us is his magnum opus,” Mazin informed The Hollywood Reporter. “Getting an opportunity to accommodate this stunning work of art was a fantasy of mine for decades, and I am so honored to take action in partnership with Neil.”
“From the very first time that I sat down to converse to Craig, I was blown away by his way of narrative along with his love and profound comprehension of The Last of Us,” explained Druckmann in a declaration.
Even though the precise form of the show is still coming together, The Hollywood Reporter states the show covers the 2013 match and may contain content from this season’s sequel, The Last of Us Part II, which Druckmann led and co-wrote.
Druckmann wrote a script for a potential The Last of Us film, but in 2018 his fascination with the job had chilled.
